At UNiDANZA, there are more than 40 of the best teachers, show dancers and musicans from all around the world waiting for you to celebrate an unforgettable festival. Look forward to which artist will be with us this year. We will announce all artists from time to time.
Jack el Calvo started His career as a DJ for Cuban music 22 years ago after he discovered Cuba in 1994.
He is now playing all around France and Europe for parties, festivals, concerts and has an outstanding reputation across the best musicans and dancers of the cuban salsa community.
Beeing a headline on many of the most important festivals in Europe he exactly knows how to handle the crowd on the dancefloor.
Jack is a perfect match for us - a guarantee that out this years parties will become absolutely awesome!
She began her dancing career in her home country Poland when she started with Ballroom Dance. Over the years she has studied and tried various forms of dance until she finally found her passion for Afro Cuban dances.
Since that day Anneta Kepka has developed her own style of dancing and became one of the most frequently booked examples that you do not need to be a Cuban to dance Salsa, Afro and Rumba on the highest level. In 2006 she won the UK Salsa Championships, in 2008 the IDO World Ladies Salsa Shines Competition. With her dance partner Osbanis she lives and teaches in London and stars the most important Salsa festivals in Europe.
We are very happy that Anneta will be with us this year for the second time! Don't miss her Style up-Intensive!
He is considered one of the leading Afro and Contemporary luminaries in Europe and has the reputation of being an excellent trainer. His workshops are characterized by clear didactics and pure energy. P>
We are delighted that Alfredo Garcia will strengthened our team of trainers this year again and are already looking forward to his outstanding workshops throughout the weekend.
For Afro fans, his lessons are an absolute must!
An excerpt from his CV shows the quality of this first-timer at UNiDANZA this year: training at the Escuela Vocational de Arte and the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Cuba as well as the Performance Year Art & Coaching in Switzerland; Solo Dancer at the Zappala Danza in Italy, the Ballet Theater Augsburg, the State Theater Saarbrücken and the BJM Dance Montreal in Canada.
In addition to all professionalism, Alfredo is a great guy - the perfect combination for UNiDANZA! P>
During the last years he became one of the most demanded teachers for Cuban Salsa across Europe. Osbanis Tejeda Fajardo was born in Havanna, Cuba and graduated as a professor for Cuban percussion from the Fernando Guancges Academy, where he later worked as teacher.
When he arrived in Europe he started to develop his career as dancer and won the World Rueda Championships in 2004 and the UK Cuban Salsa Championships in 2003. One of his special attributes is his high level of musicality dancing. He brilliantly interprets the music and is able to transfer his knowledge to his students.
We are very happy that Osbanis will be starring UNiDANZA this year for the second time. Don’t miss his Spice-Up Intensive on Friday evening he is teaching together with his partner Anneta!
Andy Gonzalo Varona is one of the most expressive Afro- and one of the leading Rumba dancers in the world. Andy belongs to the new generation of cuban dancers, being fluent in different languages, having deep didactical skills and a down-to-earth attitude. The perfect match for UNiDANZA!
Born in the heart of Havana, in a neighbourhood where art was the elixir of life, Andy realizes in very young years, that dancing and arts are his destiny.
In his professional life he was already part of famous dance companies and projects like the „Conjunto Folclórico Nacional de Cuba“, „Raíces Profundas“ and „Agrupación Músico Danzaria Osain del Monte“.
We are super happy that Andy will enrich our festival this year for the very first time with his workshops during the festival and or course - a very special highlight – with a superb Rumba Intensive class (4h – together with his dance partner Kizzy Garcia)!
Welcome to the big UNiDANZA family!
Fredy Clan is without doubt among the most expressive Salsa dancers of our times.
Starting with the Escuela Vocacional de Arte up to the ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte) he graduated at the best dance schools of Cuba each as top of the year. Then many world tours as dancer and choreographer brought him together with artists such as Compay Segundo, Los Van Van, Sinteci and Carlos Manuel y su Clan. Thanks to the latter he got his nick name.
A job for the worldwide hit show Lady Salsa finally brought him to Hamburg - where he feels home today.
Despite his constantly touring Europe and the world and his music career he'll enforce the instructors's team at UNiDANZA again.
We're happy and proud that Fredy, one of the best Afro-Cuban dancers from all over Europe, is convinced of UNiDANZA.
Osmani was born in ‘Habana Vieja’, a very special barrio of Havana, Cuba. He began his dancing journey at age 16 in Cuba.
Since then, the street was his main school and the stage became his second home. He was a member of several dance companies in Cuba, allowing him to improve his knowledge of dances like, Rumba, Afro-Cuban, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá and other traditional cuban dances, as well as Casino de Calle (also known as Salsa Cuban Style) and international dances like Samba and Hip-Hop.
His career as a teacher started back in Cuba in 2002. In 2006 he became a member of the german hip-hop crew ‘Just blaze’ led by Camillo Lauricella and with them became German Hip-Hop Champion. Since 2010 he provides his knowledge to his students, all the way from beginners to stage performer level. Together with his dance groups “Los Freakos” or the “Latin Instinct Dance Company” Osmani has already taught and performed on stage at several Salsa congresses in Germany and Europe and since 2013 he also performs as soloist!
With his energy, his didactic skills and his charme he will be an enrichment for UNiDNANZA this year again! This year he will be head-judging our UNiDANZA Rising Star Competition!
For many fans of Salsa he's perhaps the best Afro instructor in Europe. Therefore we're particularly proud to have him again at UNiDANZA this year!
Yoyo was educated as folklore and modern dance teacher at the E.N.A, Cuba's National School of Arts. He studied dance education at the I.S.A, the University of Arts in Havanna, finished in 2004 with distinction and subsequently worked as teacher at the I.S.A.
In 2002 Yoyo won the first prize at the choreography competition "Danza" in Havanna and during a stay in Germany became runner-up at the German Salsa Championships. His emphases lie - in addition to the Afro-Cuban dances - mostly on the Bailes Populares Cubanos (Son, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá, etc.).
Yorgenis Danger is not only an outstanding dancer and exceptionally gifted didact, but also an enthusiastic and charismatic person, whose positive attitude immediately transmits to his students. He lives in Germany since 2008 and teaches at the Casa Cultural in Bremen when he's not being a guest at one of the many Cuban festivals in Europe.
Don't miss his Afro Intermediate Intensive on Friday this year!
Yes! Again we will have one of your most favorite artists at this year's UNiDANZA in Hamburg!
We're talking about one of the most charismatic Salsa and Afro instructors of our times. Yohan Corrioso Sanchez normally lives in Cuba but has been spending some time in Germany this year working for Conexion in Frankfurt - and he doesn't want to miss UNiDANZA by no means!
Why Yohan was elected best instructor in 2012 and 2013? You have to see for yourselves! Since his dance education with ProDanza in Havanna he's a permanent member of the famous formation Cubanamé who were successful already in France among other countries.
We're happy and very proud to know it's essential to Yohan being part of UNiDANZA!
Already after the first trial session Salsa and Bachata years ago Moritz felt in love – and still does!
He could not have a day without dancing. Classes and workshops in different dance schools, the regular parties of Hamburg’s salsa scene, as well as the visit of international dance festivals of different styles have raised his dance skills quickly, so that - since 2013 - he has also been a teacher for Salsa Cubana and Bachata.
We are glad to be able to present one of the newcomers of the Hamburg dance scene again at UNiDANZA this year!
Liliana has been dancing all her life.
Growing up in a Brazilian family sorrounded by musicians and dancers, Liliana started dancing Brazilian Samba before she could walk. Through her life she has been studying Ballet, Jazz and Samba. In 2011 she started dancing Kizomba and Semba, and has since dedicated her heart to the African dances.
She has many years of teaching experiences and have tought in countries like Spain, Sweden, Italy, Norway and Germany.
We are looking forward having her at UNiDANZA this year for the second time already. We are happy, that she will be finally back in Hamburg in October!
Having Afro in your veins is one thing. Having Afro in your voice, too, is something completely different. Marinella has both! The exceptionally gifted singer got her musical education from the University of Music and Theatre (Hamburg) and her Rumba knowleges from big shots like John Santon, Felix Navarro, Thomas Altmann and Arturo Martinez Cabrera and already enthused the audience on several tours.
She sang and played among others with the Latin Jazz ensembles Raizamusic, Delirio Habanero and La Timbala. She shared stages with big Rumba names like "El Goyo" Gregorio Hernandez, Juan de Dios Ramos, Javier Campos Martinez.
At UNiDANZA she'll provide for background music during the Afro and Rumba workshops and the Afro and Rumba Partyfloor on Saturday night together with Arturo, Yomar and Maurice.
A such great artist like her is not allowed to miss UNiDANZA! Mari Luz is a gifted dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for all Cuban popular, traditional and folk dances. She studied and danced in the "Teatro de la Danza del Caribe; Compañia de Danza Moderna", one of the most prestigious dance companies of modern dance in Cuba.
Another highlight in her career as a dancer is the "Conjunto Folklórico del Oriente", the oldest Folkloric Ballet of Cuba. She passed their test for "Primera Bailarina Solista" and has since then worked at many international Salsa festivals.
In addition to her professional qualities she inspires especially with her positive aura and an irrepressible charm. Today she lives and works in Frankfurt.
We are incredibly lucky to have Mari Luz Fuentes again in Hamburg this year after she was nominated as one of the 3 most popular artists at UNiDANZA 2015
Born in Moldova, Svetlana was leading her dance school “Alma Cubana” in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. Since 2015 she has been living, dancing and teaching in Hamburg.
Her love to dance has 2 sides – Cuban vs Sensual! She adores dancing and teaching authentic cuban dance styles. But since last several years she felt in love with Bachata Sensual as well. For her, Bachata Sensual represents the most exciting, gentle & bright style of Bachata! The Queen of a dance floor!
We are happy to present the new capacity of Hamburg’s salsa and sensual scene for the second time at UNiDANZA!
Out of the question - Arturo is one of the biggest Afro-Cuban musicians in the world!
That's why we're exeptionally proud that he'll be available not only for two music workshops: Together with Maurice, Marinella and Yomar he'll also turn selected Afro and Rumba workshops into spectacular events! And: Don’t miss their live music support at the Afro- and Rumba-Floor at the Party on Saturday!
A very particular highlight!
Maurice is a major part of the Cuban Salsa scene in Hamburg since years where he is working as professional musican and dance instructor. He is one of the biggest Afro Cuban musicans in Germany and playing in some famous bands as Cubanisimo, FClan and Salsa y Azucar.
Today he is also very successfull with his own project VISION DY.
Together with some other great collegues, he will be playing during selected Afro and Rumba workshops during the weekend and the Afro Intermediate Intensive on Friday. Beside, he will make sure that the Rumba party floor on Saturday will be on fire!
Mary has traveled extensively and taught at many festivals. Whether Malta, Italy, Argentina, Chile, India or Germany, she always managed to make people smile and inspire them to dance.
Her workshops are multilingual (English, Spanish, Italian and of course German) and despite her qualifications and international experience as a dancer and teacher, she regularly takes classes to continue her education.
Mary is especially known for the great fun factor! That's why her Bachata-Rueda lesson is a must for anyone who enjoys life! We are really looking forward to it!
Leslie (Tumba’o Danzas), is a dynamic and diverse dance instructor who teaches Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba. Out of the three, Bachata and Kizomba are definitely his preferred dances. In his classes, Leslie doesn’t only want to teach his students “the right steps” but support them to also explore their creativity and capability of expressing themselves through the dance.
He dislikes any kind of rigid sequences being memorized, but instead enjoys seeing his students develop their own unique groove. His philosophy of teaching is to combine different styles and rhythms. For example, in his figures and footwork you will also find some elements of other dances such as Hip Hop, Breakdance and Freestyle.
Leslie encourages all participants in his classes to feel the music and to be brave enough to be easy-going as well. There are no limits to dancing, he is therefore convinced that you can turn even the simplest movements into something special.
Beside being a brilliant teacher, Leslie is one of the most honoured Kizomba DJs in Germany and we are glad that he will enrich our big parties Friday and Saturday night with his music on the Kizomba floor!
We are happy to have him at UNiDANZA again this year!
Who has been active within the cuban salsa community since years might know Yanisleisy already from the great show “Lady Salsa” that brought her to Europe many years ago. Before starring the show, she was already dancing for the cuban television ballet and the famous cuban show “Havanna Nights”.
Definitely, she was born to be on the stage. Today she is dancing at the Disney musical “Lions King” in Germany. And at UNiDANZA she will perform an outstanding, exclusive show with her dance partner Alain Zambrana.
We are already looking forward to see this!
Born in Santiago de Cuba, graduated from the Art School of Santiago de Cuba and now living and working in Germany.
Leonardo Frometa Gracia is full of energy and we are sure that he will delight you with his workshops and present during the parties.
Specialized in traditional cuban dances, Afro and Rumba he will support Laine during her workshops at The Afro Cuban Dance Festival. Don’t miss this explosive mixture!
We are happy that Leonardo will join us this year again!
She's an expert and educated dance teacher, but on top of that she's pure energy and lust for life! She's a textbook example of a Cuban!
For almost 25 years Laine has lived and worked in Germany and knows perfectly well how to fire up the maybe slighty undercooled Northern Europeans.
She got her formation at the "Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Arte" in Havanna and worked subsequently among other as solo dancer and dance instructor for the famous Cuban school for show dance "Tropicana".
In her classes she sets a high value on spirited but gentle leading. She tries to support the individual potential for improvisation in her students, without neglecting the Latin American groove and attitude. Laine's especially comfortable about the classic Afro-Cuban dances, but also convinces as teacher for Salsa Aerobic, Latino Jazz and Hip-Hop, ballet and dance for children.
We're happy to having the "Party-Queen" at UNiDANZA once again!
Meylem Gonzalez, born in Cuba, is an award-winning ballet dancer and teacher, having engagements as a soloist at the Ballet in Camagüey (Cuba), National Ballet Mexico, Dusseldorf and Leipzig. In her classes she is teaching with indescribable joy, patience and charm. Dancing is her life.
She got her diplom at the Escuela Profesional des Ballet y Artes Plasticas de Camagüey, where she studied classical ballet, Afro and the Bailes Populares.
After several very good placings and victories in the most important dance competitions in Cuba, Meylem was invited to join a tour as guest soloist of the ballet of Camagüey through Brazil and Uruguay. Today she teaches Salsa Cubana and the traditional dances of Cuba in her own dance school Baileo in Leipzig.
We are glad to have such an extraordinary lecturer at UNiDANZA for the first time this year!
After completing his dance degree at the Art School in Villa Clara in 2015, Darián Caballero began his master studies at the Art Academy (Instituto Superior del Arte / ISA) in his home town Camagüey. He was trained in Rumba, folklore, Franco-Haitian dances, folk dances and Afro (Arará, Yoruba, Palo, etc.) as well as in classical and modern ballet, contemporary dance and dance technique.
Since 2014 he worked as a solo dancer for the Camagüey Folklore Ballet and has taught dance classes at the Art Schools "Luis Casas Romero" and "Vicentina de la Torre". In the same year he received the third prize of the art festival "Vicentina de la Torre".
Since 2018 Darián teaches at the dance school "Baileo" in Leipzig.
We are looking forward having this talented young-star at UNiDANZA for the very first time!
During the last years the young dancer and teacher from Santiago de Cuba has not only proofed at UNiDANZA that her classes are a must-join!. We are happy that Yailén will be with us this year again!
In 2005 she graduated as a professional dancer and dance instructor for modern and folkloristic Cuban dances. Since then she danced a the »Conjunto Folklórico del Oriente« in Santiago de Cuba, where she passed the test as „primera bailarina“ in 2011.
DJ Miss Maya was born in 1980 in Bosnia-Herzegovina and started DJing more than 14 years ago. She first started with old school hip hop and house music, when she discovered the magic of Salsa. Since then, Maya has some impressive performances in Germany and Europe.
Whether Cuban, NY or LA style, she mixes her music, creating a recognizable blend of sounds that won't let you sit in a chair. Maya is also a very good Salsa dancer, what makes her sets even more impressive.
During the last years she fell more and more in love with the sensual sounds of Bachata and Kizomba and is now one of the most booked DJanes in Europe.
If you already danced to her sound you do already know that you should not miss her gigs at the UNiDANZA parties where we have separate floors for Bachata and Kizomba during both party nights.
DJ Latin Love has been on the road since 1994 and is one of the most flexible Latin DJs ever. Thanks to his huge repertoire, which includes even classics from the 80s and 90s and the latest hits from this century, he is regularly booked throughout Europe and even the USA.
In Germany, where he has been living since 2003, he is particularly known as expert for Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton and Kizomba.
Since he is also an event organizer, he knows exactly what his guests want. At UNiDANZA it's mainly Bachata and Kizomba - so he will serve you the best classics and latest hits on our two Sensual Floors!
Expect the best DJ's at UNiDANZA this year!
And wherever the best DJs are announced, he is present. During the last years he became - by far - the best Cuban Salsa and Timba Deejay in Europe!
Wherever he plays, there is no break. His music is simply too good to have a rest. We'd like to present the best parties of the year and are very pleased that DJ Leo d'Cuba will be with us at the Afro Cuban Dance Festival again this year!
An already well known face at UNIDANZA will enrich the line-up of teachers and artists this year again: Bianka “Bailísima” from Leipzig. More than 9 years ago she started her dance career in Denmark and spent one year in Cuba, where she improved her skills in Salsa Cubana and Ladystyling.
Meanwhile she lives in Germany again and is mainly dedicated to the sensual dances. Her passion is Bachata, which she teaches regularly in her hometown Leipzig. But also at festivals in Denmark and Germany she has already convinced a lot of participants with her detailed, yet humorous way of teaching.
Today she is the coordinator of Leipzig Touch – Germanys first and only Atáca y La Alemana Showteam!
Besides her dance skills Bianka will also bring the latest collection of her Dance Purses. These are handmade, party suitable wrist purses for women (and men). If you want to know more about it or order your personal design, you will find all further information on her website www.bailisima.de.
We are very happy to have Bianka with us as teacher this year. Don’t miss her!
Studies at Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havanna, experiences as professional and show dancer for years in Cuba and Europe and recognized as a didactically excellent dance instructor.
This is the brief description for an artist most of you took to their hearts the last years during his visits at UNiDANZA! Julio was rated one of the most favored UNiDANZA instructors from last years not without cause. He's not only a remarkable instructor and artist whose workshops you're going to love, but above all muy simpatico!
A person who perfectly matches the big UNiDANZA family. That's why we're extremely happy that he'll join our trainers' line-up again this year.
He has the reputation for beeing one of the best afro cuban pedagogues in Europe. Oh, wait. In the world. Because Nano Manuel Hechavarria Ulloa is now living close to Tel Aviv, where he owns one of the leading Cuban dance academies in Israel.
He was born in Santiago de Cuba, is a professional musican leading his own Cuban music band and a very gifted dancer and dance instructor.
Within Yanek Revilla’s “Casino.com” Rueda group he won various national competitions in Cuba and is today leading his own dance and show group in Israel.
We are very happy to have Nano with us at UNiDANZA this year again!
Yusimi Moya Rodriguez was born 1987 in Havana, Cuba. She began her career at the age of 12, when she entered the Escuela Nacional de Danza, a department of the reknown Escuela Nacional de Artes (ENA) in Havana. She graduated in 2005 receiving the Cuban diploma as a professional dancer and professor for contemporary and folkloric dances (Bailarín-Profesór de Danza Moderna y Folklórica).
She was picked by the "Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba" (also known as "Ballet Folklórico Nacional") and worked there for five years before she joined the contemporary dance group “Ebony”.
Being part of the Latin Dance Musical “Bailando” she moved to Vienna, where she is still living and working today.
Yusimi is an experienced dance instructor focussing on traditional and contemporary technique.
We are more than happy to have this outstanding dance instructor with us this year again!
Charming, full of energy and hilarious – these are Juan Carlos’ most striking characteristics. The native to Cuba is a permanent at the most important European Salsa festivals and - now for the fourth time - starring UNiDANZA. You asked for him - you'll get him!
Already at the age of 10 he learned the Bailes Populares, by the age of 18 he was a dancer with Conjunto Folklórico Cutumba and with Ballet Folklórico de Oriente. Only six years later he became part of the Ballet Conjunto Folklórico Nacional in Havanna with which he toured Europe and Asia for several years.
His big talent, his enthusiasm for dancing combined with passion and creativity make him a unique and outstanding dancer and teacher.
We’re happy to presenting Juan "El Animal" Carlos again at the Afro Cuban Dance Festival in Hamburg!
Already 10 years ago the native Spanish dance teacher opened his own dance school Santananeta in Gütersloh. Since then, he has been growing his reputation not only for his special Bachata classes. But also because he is funny like no one else in the community and is dancing and teaching Ruedas somehow… lets say special ;) We guarantee a lot of fun!
Since years he is booked on major events and festivals all across Germany. This year he is part of UNiDANZA the very first time!
His Rueda de Bachata class is a must!
Barnabe, born in Togo, is one of the resident DJs of the famous "Punto Cubano" party in Essen - the most traditional cuban salsa party in the ruhr-area in Germany. He is a frequently booked "allround"-DJ focussing on Timba and cuban salsa, who really can read the dancefloor. Beeing the way he is, he is one of the few DJs in Germany, who really can make anyone visiting his parties happy.
Beside his gigs at several Punto Cubana events, he is often booked at the most important cuban dance events in Germany (i.e. Azuca Cologne, Pedros Cuba Lounge Essen, Euro Salsa & Sensual Festival Düsseldorf, Timbar Hamburg, ...).
We are happy, that Baranbe will he with us at UNiDANZA this year for the very first time!
His name is strongly associated with Rueda de Casino. As a specialist for extraordinary topics like "llanta", "espejo", "cruzado" or "trio caliente" he is frequently invited to Congresses like the SalsaNOR Rueda Congress or the Rueda Festival Stuttgart, where he is known for his well prepared workshops and his didactical skills.
But most of all, Knut inspires through his enthusiasm which is intoxicating. His classes are not to be missed!
And we are happy to have him with us in Hamburg for the second time this year!
Kizzy Garcia Vale was born in 1985 in Cuba. She completed her dance education in modern and folkloristic dance at the national art school E.N.A. in Cuba. After her studies she danced under the direction of various national and international choreographers for the national dance company "Danza Contemporanea de Cuba".
She moved to Switzerland ten years ago, where she danced in various productions, freelance company projects, TV and commercial events in Switzerland, Germany and abroad and has been working as model. Today she is working as modern, jazz and Cuban folklore teacher all around Europe.

We are proud to have the renowned artist for the first time at UNiDANZA this year!
Since nearly 15 years Frank is teaching Salsa Cubana in Hamburg and is one of the cornerstones of the cuban dance community in the city. Better than anyone else he knows, how classes should be structured. As per this, he is a perfect trainer for beginners (even he is very good for advanced dancers as well). Bcause he really can teach what - next to basic steps and technique - is most important for Salsa Cubana: Joy and fun!
As one of the originals in the german cuban salsa community, Frank is of course again in our roster this yeas!
Yomar, born in Pinar de Rio, Cuba, is a blessed musician who already worked with the greatest names in the Cuban music scene.
Just some examples: in 1998 he accompanied the great Compay Segundo and later played with the legend Luis "Aspirina" Chacon. In Europe he worked with artists like Herbie Hancock, Elian Elias, Chano Dominguez and Joaquin Sabina.
At UNiDANZA he won't play in front of a big audience for a change, but only for the participants of selected Rumba and Afro workshops, the Afro Intensive and the Rumba dance floor on Saturday night. A must for every Salsa dancer! For even if you couldn't relate to Afro or Rumba up to now - these workshops and parties with live music will thrill you!
DJane Kizz has convinced the northern german dance scene in a rush. She is booked all aroung Germany and is known for her sets in the Macumba, the Timbar, the Momentos Latinos in Bremen and, of course, some festivals (such as the Kizombachata Festival).
The native russian lady with the fire and temperament of a Latina is not only fluently in the spanish and its different dialects, but also knows perfectly what her audience wants to hear and which beats motivates them to dance the night away.
The Latin-Music genre is her personal passion, which has rised through numerous stays in South America and Cuba. Salsa, Mambo, Timba, Bachata, Kizomba and Reggaeton are her world. DJane Kizz enchants her audience with a unique mix of traditional, modern and remix sounds. Dance fun is guaranteed.
At UNiDANZA she will fire you up with hot sensual sounds on the big Bachata and Kizomba floors during the parties.
Marcos Antonio Sutil Vera was born in 1987 in Havanna, Cuba. After a training in the field of gastronomy, he put his passion for dancing into action. He began training as a Tango dancer and teacher at the Casa del Tango but soon after also became a Salsa teacher.
After engagements with the “Sprach Café” and the “Caribbean Dance” company, from 2013 on he worked in Havanna in the School of Cuban Dances “E.B.C.” of Marisuri – well known to many in Europe.
Since last year he is living and teaching in Hamburg. We are happy that Marcos will be with us this year again!
A professional dancer, a gifted trainer and an absolute sympathizer who feels most comfortable on a stage. A type that fits perfectly to UNIDANZA. A type with an impressive Vita:
Alain was born in Cuba in 1984, where she studied dance, modern dance, ballet, Latin dances, Spanish dance and Afro Cuban Dances as well as music.
He got his diploma as a dancer in 2004 from the "Tropicana de Cuba", for whose company he was subsequently engaged as a soloist. He also was honored with the "Cubadanza" certificate for contemporary dance and got several titles for modern dance and music.
In Havana, he danced in "Teatro America" and as a solo dancer in "Tropicana: Tambores em concierto." He toured through Europe with "Ben Hur live".
In Germany, he was a dancer at the Cologne Opera, the MDR TV Ballet, Marcia Barett (Boney M), the Apassionata Show, Germany's "Musical Fever" tour and many shows and galas from Stage Entertainement (Promotion Rocky, among others).
Alain regularly teaches at the “King of the Lions” musical in Hamburg, as a guest trainer at the famous Friedrichsstadtpalast in Berlin and in Copenhagen. He also performs and teaches at major festivals around the world (among others at the Salsa festival in Copenhagen).
Since May 2013 he has been engaged as a dancer with the King of the Lions musical in Hamburg as a front line dancer.
And in October 2017, he is - for the second time time - part of our team at UNiDANZA!
He is perhaps the hottest newcomer within the Afro-Cuban salsa community, if you can call him a newcomer at all. In the last three years he has been touring continuously from one event to another and has been to some of the most important festivals in Europe.
He is one of the great talents of the Afro-Cuban salsa scene and we are looking forward having Luis Duarte again as a trainer this year!
At 17, the native Portuguese found his enthusiasm for salsa. In no time the talented student became an amazing dancer and teacher. Only two years later, Luis founded his own dance group (Hot Tumbao), who just won the qualification tournament of the Stargate competition at the EuroSalsa & Sensual Festival in Düsseldorf two year ago.
Luis is a prime example for the new generation artists of our community: didactically perfect, sympathetic, well present at the parties and with a lot of time for the participants of his workshops.
We are looking forward to having Luis on board again this year!
Yassell Lopez Rodriguez is a professional dancer and dance teacher from Cuba who already at the age of only 15 started his own dance school in Cuba, teaching kids and teenagers classical ballet and Cuban popular dances. He is a graduate from the Escuela de Instructores de Arte in Havanna (year of 2008) and the winner of the Cuban National Salsa Championship "Bailar es Algo Más", the most important annual competition for Cuban Salsa and Cuban traditional dances in Havana. By now he is the director of Escuela Cubana de Danza "Yassballet" in Gothenburg, Sweden.
As creating shows is one of his big passions, he has been working with different dance companies and famous bands being simultaneously responsible for make-up, design, costume design, choreography, scenography… , producing musical shows and performing for the Cuban National TV. In 2009 he completed his studies as Artistic Director at the Centro de Artes Escénicas in Havanna and is now one of the artists responsible in disseminating the Cuban dance style around the world.
