He is considered one of the leading Afro and Contemporary luminaries in Europe and has the reputation of being an excellent trainer. His workshops are characterized by clear didactics and pure energy. We are delighted that Alfredo Garcia will strengthened our team of trainers this year again and are already looking forward to his outstanding workshops throughout the weekend. For Afro fans, his lessons are an absolute must! An excerpt from his CV shows the quality of this first-timer at UNiDANZA this year: training at the Escuela Vocational de Arte and the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Cuba as well as the Performance Year Art & Coaching in Switzerland; Solo Dancer at the Zappala Danza in Italy, the Ballet Theater Augsburg, the State Theater Saarbrücken and the BJM Dance Montreal in Canada. In addition to all professionalism, Alfredo is a great guy - the perfect combination for UNiDANZA!
Andy Gonzalo Varona is one of the most expressive Afro- and one of the leading Rumba dancers in the world. Andy belongs to the new generation of cuban dancers, being fluent in different languages, having deep didactical skills and a down-to-earth attitude. The perfect match for UNiDANZA! Born in the heart of Havana, in a neighbourhood where art was the elixir of life, Andy realizes in very young years, that dancing and arts are his destiny. In his professional life he was already part of famous dance companies and projects like the „Conjunto Folclórico Nacional de Cuba“, „Raíces Profundas“ and „Agrupación Músico Danzaria Osain del Monte“. We are super happy that Andy loves our new concept and will be part of our big family again this time
Osmani was born in ‘Habana Vieja’, a very special barrio of Havana, Cuba. He began his dancing journey at age 16 in Cuba. Since then, the street was his main school and the stage became his second home. He was a member of several dance companies in Cuba, allowing him to improve his knowledge of dances like, Rumba, Afro-Cuban, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá and other traditional cuban dances, as well as Casino de Calle (also known as Salsa Cuban Style) and international dances like Samba and Hip-Hop. His career as a teacher started back in Cuba in 2002. In 2006 he became a member of the german hip-hop crew ‘Just blaze’ led by Camillo Lauricella and with them became German Hip-Hop Champion. Since 2010 he provides his knowledge to his students, all the way from beginners to stage performer level. Together with his dance groups “Los Freakos” or the “Latin Instinct Dance Company” Osmani has already taught and performed on stage at several Salsa congresses in Germany and Europe and since 2013 he also performs as soloist! With his energy, his didactic skills and his charme he will be an enrichment for UNiDNANZA this year again!
For many fans of Salsa he's perhaps the best Afro instructor in Europe. Therefore we're particularly proud to have him again at UNiDANZA this year! Yoyo was educated as folklore and modern dance teacher at the E.N.A, Cuba's National School of Arts. He studied dance education at the I.S.A, the University of Arts in Havanna, finished in 2004 with distinction and subsequently worked as teacher at the I.S.A. In 2002 Yoyo won the first prize at the choreography competition "Danza" in Havanna and during a stay in Germany became runner-up at the German Salsa Championships. His emphases lie - in addition to the Afro-Cuban dances - mostly on the Bailes Populares Cubanos (Son, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá, etc.). Yorgenis Danger is not only an outstanding dancer and exceptionally gifted didact, but also an enthusiastic and charismatic person, whose positive attitude immediately transmits to his students. He lives in Germany since 2008 and teaches at the Casa Cultural in Bremen when he's not being a guest at one of the many Cuban festivals in Europe.
When talking about a festival that is really focussing on learning, he definitely needs to be part of the lineup! We're talking about one of the most charismatic Salsa and Afro instructors of our times. Yohan Corrioso Sanchez lives in Germany working for Conexion in Frankfurt - and he doesn't want to miss the new UNiDANZA by no means! Why Yohan was elected one of the best instructor the last years? You have to see for yourselves! Since his dance education with ProDanza in Havanna he's a permanent member of the famous formation Cubanamé who were successful already in France among other countries. We're happy and very proud to know it's essential to Yohan being part of UNiDANZA!
Studies at Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havanna, experiences as professional and show dancer for years in Cuba and Europe and recognized as a didactically excellent dance instructor. This is the brief description for an artist most of you took to their hearts the last years during his visits at UNiDANZA! Julio was rated one of the most favored UNiDANZA instructors from last years not without cause. He's not only a remarkable instructor and artist whose workshops you're going to love, but above all muy simpatico! A person who perfectly matches the big UNiDANZA family. That's why we're extremely happy that he'll join our trainers' line-up again this year.
Yusimi Moya Rodriguez was born 1987 in Havana, Cuba. She began her career at the age of 12, when she entered the Escuela Nacional de Danza, a department of the reknown Escuela Nacional de Artes (ENA) in Havana. She graduated in 2005 receiving the Cuban diploma as a professional dancer and professor for contemporary and folkloric dances (Bailarín-Profesór de Danza Moderna y Folklórica). She was picked by the "Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba" (also known as "Ballet Folklórico Nacional") and worked there for five years before she joined the contemporary dance group “Ebony”. Being part of the Latin Dance Musical “Bailando” she moved to Vienna, where she is still living and working today. Yusimi is an experienced dance instructor focussing on traditional and contemporary technique and the perfect trainer for the new core training concept.
He used to be announces as the hottest newcomer within the Afro-Cuban salsa community. But we believe that it is time to announce him no longer as a newcomber but as one of the most talented dancers and best dance teachers around Europe! At 17, the native Portuguese found his enthusiasm for salsa. In no time the talented student became an amazing dancer and teacher. Only two years later, Luis founded his own dance group (Hot Tumbao), who won the qualification tournament of the Stargate competition at the EuroSalsa & Sensual Festival in Düsseldorf some years ago. Luis is a prime example for the new generation artists of our community: didactically perfect, sympathetic, well present at the parties and with a lot of time for the participants of his workshops. We are looking forward to having Luis on board again this year!
Yuliet was born and raised in Havana where dancing was a part of her life from childhood. The Conjunto Folclórico de la Universidad de La Habana gave her the chance to develop as a dancer. Since then she has participated in festivals, shows and competitions, in Cuba as well as internationally. Today she is working as a dance instructor and choreographer at one of the largest salsa schools in Oslo. Yuliet is teaching both traditional and modern dances from Cuba. Her students particularly appreciate her ability convey the distinctive Cuban style of dancing, together with her obvious joy of teaching. As we did, when we saw her the first time some years ago, we are very sure, that you will love her! Her energy, her way of teaching and motivating people – she is just great! And we are happy that she will starring UNiDANZA this year!
